On Rue Xavier Brasseur in Differdange, an individual was seen holding a gun out of a car window on Thursday. A police patrol initiated a search, and they were finally able to stop the vehicle in question and its three passengers at the crossing of Rue Emile Mark and rue Michel Rodange. The gun, which was located next to the front passenger, was seized.
All three individuals in the car were immobilised and taken to the police station for further questioning. The gun in question was an airsoft pistol.
As the driver was suspected of being under the influence of drugs, the police did a rapid test which came back positive. The man was taken to hospital for a blood and urine sample.
The other two men were also searched, 12 grams of cannabis were seized. The police searched the gun's owner's house and managed to find another, similar weapon.
The vehicle, weapons and drugs were all seized upon court's order. The three men were able to leave the police station and a formal complaint has been filed.
