Emergency services were called to the road between Saeul and Brouch on the N8 at around 5.45am on Friday following a serious accident involving a lorry. For reasons that remain unclear, the driver lost control and struck a tree, causing the cab of the vehicle to be completely destroyed.

According to initial reports, the driver was fortunate to escape with only minor injuries. The road had to be entirely closed to traffic to allow for the recovery and removal of the damaged lorry.
