In three weeks, the annual Schueberfouer funfair will kick off at the Glacis car park in Limpertsberg, with visitors from across the region expected to join Luxembourg's biggest folk festival. This year's edition is the 686th version of the fair, and it will run from 21 August to 9 September.
214 establishments are due to participate this year. Members of the Luxembourg City council presented details on this year's event at a press conference on Thursday morning, announcing four new attractions, a new eatery and three new shopping stalls.
One of the new attractions is a rollercoaster which makes use of virtual reality, known as Dr Archibald – Master of Time. It is joined by other new rides named Wilde Maus, King Loop and Skater.
The new rides will be at the fair alongside existing attractions Thriller, Techno Power, Rotor, Flipper, Jules Verne Tower, Starlight, Circus Circus and Happy Sailor.
Joining the array of food stalls at the fair is a brand new paella stall, known as Paella By KingKong.
Haribo, Handy Paradies, and Helium Balloons round off the new shopping stalls dotted around the funfair.
