The proportion of pupils leaving primary school for different secondary school options remains stable in comparison to recent years.

At the end of the 2025/2026 school year, 5,923 pupils from primary school Cycle 4 were oriented to different secondary school options.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Education, 39.9% of pupils will start classical secondary education in September, while 46% will enter general secondary education, and 13.9% will go into preparatory school. 0.2% will repeat their final year of primary school.

The proportion of children sorted into the different options remained stable in comparison to previous years. In 99.4% of cases, the pupils' parents were satisfied with their child's secondary school orientation.
