Preventative salting is to take place on Luxembourgish roads this week, as the Roads and Bridges Administration will carry out a dry run before the weather conditions deteriorate.
The tests will be carried out until mid-November between 3am and 6am so as not to interfere with rush hour. This phase will also allow the administration to verify the proper functioning of all equipment such as spreaders and the correct sequence of the various triggering procedures and salting rounds.
These salting operations, although announced as "tests", will be well timed, as Météolux have predicted temperatures below 0°C Wednesday and Thursday morning in a short-lived cold snap.
