The accident occurred on the road linking Mondorf-les-Bains and Remich at 9.45 pm. According to the police, the two cars collided near the entrance ramp to the A13. One of the vehicles had attempted to join the lane towards the motorway, and in the process was hit hard by the other car coming from Mondorf.
The driver was trapped in the car and unable to get out until firefighters arrived at the scene to cut him out. He was then urgently taken to hospital due to his critical injuries. Both the other driver and their passenger emerged unscathed, but were nevertheless taken to hospital for a check-up.
