The citizens of Medingen, Moutfort and Oetrange, part of the municipality with 4,200 residents, were invited to an information meeting with local council members on Thursday evening.
The mayor outlined plans to dig out a field besides the Syr river, and construct a dam to better control the flow of water.
But citizens lament that the water levels of the river have been rising year after year, and nothing has been done. But the conclusion of the meeting was that there are currently no flood protection measures which could have an immediate effect.
