This nomination, which came from the Christian Social People’s Party (CSV), was approved during the last state council meeting and was officially published in the Mémorial on Wednesday. As a result, Paul Wirtgen, who has been the new director of the Nordspidol hospital for the past two months, will join the Council of State for the first time during its next meeting.
The other vacant seat on the Council of State was filled on Tuesday. The mayor of Bettembourg, Laurent Zeimet, was appointed by the MPs to replace former district commissioner Charles Lampers, who resigned earlier this year.
Among the 21 members of the Council of State, there are currently eight women after the recent swearing-in of Josiane Pauly and Monique Adams.
