The authorities wish to make the public aware of a scam that attempts to lead people into following a link.

If the link's URL isn't enough to betray the message's veracity, the ensuing questions about private details should. Individuals need to be aware of the fact that this is not a real supermarket competition, and ask themselves who might be obtaining this personal information.

Should you have followed these steps and put your credit details in, note the small print that reveals that €85 will be pulled from your account in six days.

Since a real win looks a little different, it seems the whole thing is a fraudulent attempt at hustling money from unassuming members of the public.

In the case that you might have fallen victim to this scam, you can file a report with the police.

More details and precautionary measures can be found at BEE SECURE. The police also advises people to spread the word to family, friends and acquaintances.
