Police were called to a property in Colmar-Berg on Tuesday evening.
The resident contacted authorities after his CCTV system alerted him to someone entering his property while he was away.
Officers searched the area for the suspected burglar and eventually found a person matching the description near the resident's home. The individual was hiding on a staircase leading to a cellar.
During the subsequent check, officers seized a small quantity of hashish as well as several pills. A police report was filed.
