In a parliamentary response to CSV MP Marc Spautz, Carole Dieschbourg said the ideal wait time would be between four and eight weeks, but a lack of ministry staff has led to delays.

Currently, customers are having to wait up to a year to receive the payment following the purchase of an electric bike. Dieschbourg acknowledged that the wait was far too long, but explained that recruitment was ongoing for new staff members which would help to alleviate the long wait times.

The Minister added there were no plans to prioritise the demands from people on lower salaries. She said the subsidy scheme was not a social measure and the ministry did not benefit from information on the applicants’ income.
