On Wednesday morning, Luxembourg police handed a 33-year-old Algerian man over to German authorities at the Wasserbillig border.

The man was wanted after the Kassel magistrate's court issued a pre-trial detention order against him. According to the charges, he had attempted to steal clothes from a shop in Kassel by force but failed. He is also alleged to have used force against the shop's security staff, injuring one of them in the hand, and to have failed to appear in court for his trial.

After being handed over at the Wasserbillig border, the man was brought before a judge and then sent to a nearby prison.
