The woman was found guilty of inciting hatred after writing racist comments about immigrants on the Facebook page of L'Essentiel. The trial concerned two incidents: one in June 2018 and one in January this year.
The woman's racist comments including a post last year in which she wrote: "What do we even have to do with that filth?" After other people reacted to her comment, she wrote "That's why you don't have any brains, you sick scum!"
This year, the woman's comments that landed in court were such as "The filth should stay where he is" and answering "No, they're monkeys!" in response to other comments.
The court found her guilty of inciting hatred and sentenced her to a six-month suspended sentence alongside a €3,000 fine.
