The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) responded to two separate fire incidents during the night from Thursday to Friday. The first call came at around 9.45pm, when firefighters in Bettembourg were dispatched to Rue de la Briqueterie after rubbish caught fire.

Shortly after midnight, at approximately 12.35am, a hut on the Gaalgebierg in Esch-sur-Alzette caught fire. Local crews from Esch received assistance from their colleagues in Kayl and Schifflange to bring the blaze under control.
