As part of his Screentime show, Stephen ‘Steps’ Lowe, brings you a number of fresh looks at upcoming releases.

Beef Season 2 (Netflix)

The anthology series returns with a brand-new feud from Lee Sung Jin, shifting focus to a fresh set of characters, including Carey Mulliga, Oscar Isaac, Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny, whose lives spiral out of control after a seemingly minor conflict.

The season is expected to retain its sharp tonal balance of dark comedy and emotional drama, with Sung Jin again overseeing writing and direction alongside returning collaborators.

Expect the same mix of dark comedy, emotional fallout and painfully relatable tension - where small grudges escalate into something far bigger.

Harry Potter (HBO)

HBO’s long-form reboot of the wizarding world reimagines Harry Potter’s journey from the very beginning, with each season dedicated to a book in the original series by J. K. Rowling.

The reboot is being developed by Francesca Gardiner (showrunner) and directed by Mark Mylod, known for Succession.

With a new cast and expanded storytelling, the series aims to explore the characters, magic and darker themes in greater depth.

Cape Fear (Apple TV+)

Inspired by the classic psychological thriller, this Cape Fear redux is produced by Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg, with Nick Antosca as showrunner.

This reimagining stars Javier Bardem as the menacing ex-convict and Amy Adams as the lawyer drawn into his orbit. The series leans into psychological tension, expanding the story into a deeper, character-driven thriller.

As the threat closes in, the story unfolds into a tense, slow-burn battle of fear, manipulation and revenge.
