Applications for affordable housing can now be submitted via MyGuichet, a change intended to make the process faster and more efficient.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Ministry of Housing said the move marks an important step toward simplifying the process. Under the new system, a single registration with the National Register of Affordable Housing (RENLA) is enough to apply for a home with various housing actors.

The centralised platform allows public developers to access all applications, and the ministry hopes this will speed up processing times.

There are currently about 8,900 registered applications. The housing stock stands at around 3,500 units, though that figure is expected to rise to roughly 4,300 once the registration of all homes is completed in the coming weeks.

Additional units will be added over time. These numbers should therefore be regarded as estimates.
