The National Health Fund (CNS) has raised its reimbursement rates for prescription glasses by about 20 percent since January. This adjustment was confirmed by Minister of Health Martine Deprez, responding to a parliamentary inquiry from Francine Closener and Mars Di Bartolomeo, MPs of the Luxembourg Socialist Workers’ Party (LSAP).
Furthermore, a new specific tariff has been established for glasses designed to slow down the progression of myopia, specifically targeting children and adolescents aged five to 17.
The revision of the benefits catalogue, developed in collaboration with the Federation of Opticians and Optometrists, came into effect on 1 January, as detailed in Martine Deprez’s response.
