Sunday morning took an unusual turn for police on the A6 near Arlon, after a report came in of a car stationary on the motorway with a flat tyre, with the driver apparently sound asleep in the back seat. Officers located the driver and conducted an alcohol and drug test. Both came back positive, and his driving licence was revoked on the spot.

The weekend’s driving-related incidents did not end there. Shortly after midnight on Monday, a motorist on Rue Gaffelt in Dudelange made the questionable decision to brake sharply and briefly swerve into the oncoming lane upon spotting a police patrol. The manoeuvre had the opposite of its intended effect, immediately drawing the officers’ attention. A subsequent alcohol test came back positive, and the driver left without his licence.
