An incident that could have ended much worse occurred on Friday evening on Rue Principale in Folschette.

A police patrol noticed a car parked near a bus stop with several immediately visible defects. Just as the officers were inspecting the vehicle, the driver returned. According to the police bulletin, the individual was visibly unhappy to see the officers and was “uncooperative”.

The driver reportedly got into the car and attempted to drive away. When the officers tried to stop them, “the driver drove into one of the officer’s legs”, police said. The driver was eventually prevented from driving further and was fined for rebellion against police officers.

Separately on Friday evening in Niederkorn, police reported a drink-driving incident. At around 7.30pm, officers observed a car zigzagging along the road and stopped the driver shortly afterwards. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was issued a provisional driving ban.
