On Thursday, Luxembourg's financial watchdog, the CSSF, announced that 2,968 Luxembourg funds managed 6,700 billion euros by the end of June 2026. A year ago, there were 3,100 funds managing 5,800 billion.
The supervisory authority specified that over 13,000 funds are technically active, although operating under the umbrella structure of around 2,000 funds.
Last year the funds generated 1.3 billion euros in revenue through subscription fees of between 0.01 and 0.05% (paid quarterly) – for a total of 27 billion. The financial centre, made up of the funds, banks and insurance companies, brought in around 3 billion euros for the State in corporate tax in 2025.
The CSSF highlighted several events that influenced the funds' activity in June, including the fall in oil prices after initial negotiations between the United States and Iran, SpaceX going public, and the restrictive monetary policy of the US Central Bank, which pushed up the value of the US dollar against the euro.
