Snow alert liftedLuxembourg wakes up under a light layer of snow
Luxembourg woke up on Sunday to a light layer of snow following an orange weather alert, with main roads already cleared by 6am.
Snowfalls and icy roads marked the recent orange alert, but authorities appeared to be well-prepared for the situation.
Snowploughs from the National Roads Administration began operating in the north of the country as early as 3am. An hour later, freezing rain posed additional challenges, but according to RTL information, most major routes have since been cleared.
Nonetheless, take extra care on secondary roads. Assume that ice could still form, as rain is still forecasted for this morning in Luxembourg. The weather alerts were lifted by Meteolux at 7am.
