The project was revised in 2017 in order to include international classes, and while discussions considered opening a boarding school in the vicinity, this idea was abandoned. Then, on the 11 May 2015, ministers François Bausch and Claude Meisch, alongside former state secretary Camille Gira and Clervaux mayor Emile Eicher laid down the foundation stone.

The school is said to have cost €44 million. Some 200 students enrolled for the beginning of the 2018/2019 school year, and by 2024 this number should grow to round 1070.

Luxembourg Insider - part fifteen: Luxembourg's school systemOfficially opening its doors in time for the new school year, Luxembourg’s “21st century school” also offers French, German and English sections. In terms of vocational training, pupils can choose careers in art, hotel keeping and business. Working with new technology is also part of the program: aside from schoolbooks, students will be working with iPads.

They will have access to film and photo studios, a library, and media and info rooms. Finally, pupils can spend afternoons participating in various activities, and evening classes will also be available. This, in any case, is how director Jean Billa describes the new establishment.

The school's management and ministers François Bausch and Claude Meisch will be officially opening the school’s doors at 3pm on Friday afternoon.
