Police in Differdange have arrested a man suspected of repeatedly stealing parcels from an apartment building on Place Marie-Paule Molitor-Peffer. For several weeks officers had received reports about missing packages intended for residents. According to initial findings, the man is believed to have entered the building on multiple occasions to steal parcels. During a search, police seized several items believed to have been stolen. The investigation is ongoing.
Also on Thursday, police apprehended another suspected thief in a separate incident. Security staff at a shop on Route d’Arlon detained a man after a theft, holding him at the scene until police arrived. Officers searched the suspect and found a rucksack and several printer cartridges in his possession. Further investigation suggested that the man may have stolen from other shops in Kayl and Bettembourg as well. A search of his car uncovered additional printer cartridges. Acting on orders from the public prosecutor's office, police arrested the suspect. The car, two mobile phones, and suspected stolen goods were seized. On Friday, the suspect was brought before an examining magistrate.
