In most cases over the Easter weekend, situations had calmed down by the time officers arrived or were quickly resolved at the scene.
On Sunday evening at around 7pm, police were called to a café on Rue du Commerce in Rodange following reports of intoxicated individuals harassing other customers. A patrol located the two men after a short search. Both were visibly drunk and uncooperative with officers, and following a medical check, they were placed under arrest.
In Beggen, a scuffle broke out between several people, prompting a patrol to attend and call for reinforcements. The dispute was resolved quickly, however, and the situation soon settled.
The most serious incident occurred on Sunday night, when police were called to a family dispute in Troisvierges. Officers found a man showing clear signs of heavy intoxication who proved extremely uncooperative, and pulled a knife as officers approached. He was swiftly overpowered by police officers.
The public prosecutor’s office was informed and ordered his arrest. He is due to appear before the examining magistrate on Monday afternoon.
