In a public appeal issued at 7.30pm, police advised residents not to pick up any unknown individuals by car in the Roodt-sur-Syre area. Anyone spotting suspicious persons was asked to report this to 113.
At the time, police said they were searching for one or more individuals following a reported break-in.
By 10.48pm, however, police confirmed upon request that the search operation had since been called off, without the suspected burglars being apprehended.
