A man suspected of taking part in a violent home invasion in Eschweiler last October has been extradited to Luxembourg after his arrest in Thailand at the beginning of July. French authorities transferred the suspect to Luxembourg on Thursday, where he was brought before an examining magistrate in Diekirch, charged, and subsequently remanded in custody.

The case relates to a so-called homejacking on 27 October 2025, during which three intruders broke into a residence in Eschweiler. The occupants were held captive and, under threat of violence, forced to hand over jewellery, watches, and cash.

Two other suspects had already been extradited to Luxembourg at the end of January 2026, following the execution of European arrest warrants. Both were also charged and placed in pre-trial detention by the same judge in Diekirch. The investigation is ongoing, and the presumption of innocence applies to all those involved.
