According to the press release published by ADEM on Monday, the rise is likely be due to registrations for the new social inclusion income (Revis), which now falls under a new law.
In April, ADEM opened 2,200 new jobseeker files, corresponding to 26% more than 12 months ago. Additionally, the agency also opened files for 528 non-resident jobseekers. This number has risen by 117%, given that including former cross-border workers is a recent phenomenon.
In total, more than 2,500 non-residents are registered with the agency. Employers reported more than 3,300 work places as available in April. Almost 4,300 individuals also joined the agency's employment initiatives.
