Chamber Secretary General Laurent Scheeck confirmed that the decision to shut down the site on Wednesday was taken as a precautionary measure in reaction to what he described as a known security risk, leaving those responsible with no option but to take all systems offline.
The website has been fully accessible again since Friday morning, with the exception of the petitions site, which remained inaccessible at the time of writing. It is not the first time the Chamber has faced such difficulties, having previously dealt with a data leak and IT problems following a system update.
